Description:
For precision cross cutting of prefinished wood slats for blinds, the Model LS-12, 12" linear cut-off saw with pre-scoring provides clean, chip free cutting up to maximum capacity of 4" high by 9" wide. The bottom spindle is designed for pre-scoring prior to cut off to prevent or minimize tearout. It is designed to accept a 6" diameter scoring saw and is powered by a 1-1/2 HP motor. Spindle speed is approximately 4700 RPM.
The top spindle is designed for a 12" diameter sawblade and is powered by a 3 HP motor. Spindle speed is approximately 4700 RPM. Top and bottom spindles are adjustable vertically via dovetailed ways. Sawblade travel is horizontal via linear bearing mounted slide and powered by a pneumatic cylinder with adjustable flow controls.
Horizontally mounted pneumatic work clamps are installed on each side of the cut-off saw and are equipped with an automatic return circuit to release only after full sawblade retraction. Saw cycling cannot occur unless clamps are engaged.
Additional sets of vertically mounted hold down clamps are mounted with one cylinder to the left of the saw station and with one cylinder to the right of the saw station. Clamps are preset for a 1" to 4" height range and up to 9" material width. Clamp faces are equipped with non marking neoprene rubber. Vertical clamps are set to engage slightly after the horizontal clamps.
A 4" diameter sawdust and chip exhaust is installed on the sawblade assembly. A pushbutton magnetic starter is provided for 230/460 volts, 3 phase, 60 cycle electrics and with lockout disconnect switch. Airline filter, regulator and lubricator installed.
Machine hood is equipped with hinged doors on each side for quick access for tooling changes. Material width range is 1" to 9" and material height range is 1" to 4". Material to be processed is hardwood. Includes one 12" diameter x 100 tooth x #6 tooth style carbide tipped sawblade with radial taper clearance and kerf thickness matched to the scoring saw and one 6" OD x 40 tooth conical reverse dish scoring saw with kerf to match cut-off sawblade (Top .125" - Bottom .145") Also available with an optional secondary grooving station which is used by the window blind companies for “no hole” slats for the cords.
